Jules Kim, the creator of Bijules, is unapologetically conquering the balance of art and aesthetics in jewelry. This makes her one of those rare artists who harbor the ability to create objects that mirror the beautiful and chaotic world we inhabit: with all its humor, tragedy, ambivalence, love and hate…

To be in the company of Jules is to be in the presence of a seer – a visionary: who calmly describes the world’s mysteries in ways never before thought or expressed. At times it’s difficult to separate the artist from the art – overwhelmed with the beauty of a goddess, fantasies seem much more nearer, allowing you to discover novelty within yourself. Jules doesn’t just make jewelry: she makes an experience. With an ear to the ground of the fashion world, Jules has demonstrated her ability to transcend the ordinary limits of vision and thought. Its difficult to know what to do with it…then you realize Jules has given you a universal experience that adapts to your current situation. You allow the jewelry to emanate the confidence the creator bestowed upon it at the moment of its creation. Defying time, normality, and traditional forms of expression, Jules has proved that she is an artist to be reckoned with, sought after, and cherished.

MW: Innovation is a term you hear so much in terms of technology, but not enough in other parts of our lives. How do feel about this?
JK: Innovation is a term i use everyday and i do not exist in the terribly complicated world of tech, so i feel just as passionate about my innovative and original theories as any tech person might!

MW: You hosted the fabulous la bain parties at the standard hotel this past summer in NYC. How is this part of your overall strategy for your jewelry?
JK: Bijules is a brand, it is a brand born from a high end jewlery product. The beautifully made jewelry with innovative concepts represent the base of bijules; whereas, the choices we make should also have a home full of thoughtfulness and individual expression. When I host an event or party, it is creating a platform for our choices to reiterate the potential beauty we have both on the surface of your skin and deep inside.

MW: What do you love the most about NYC?
JK: I love that we CAN DO ANYTHING. if anyone says no, i find a way around their no to eventually equal just as a good as yes.

MW: What are you working on now that has you most excited?
JK:I have just launched my store, the bijulesterie…I launch a new fashion film with asvoff in November at the centre pompidou in Paris and look forward to many more collaborations with celebs and anyone who is part of the Bijules movement…
